OPERATION EMPOWER: Liberty Recovery

Lowe's Hometowns

In Summer 2024, Operation Empower received a generous grant from Lowe's Hometowns! We are thrilled that we were selected as a #LowesHometowns Project! This incredible support provided the necessary funds to:

  • make critical repairs to our Liberty Recovery Training Center.
  • add a beautiful lighted sign.
  • prep the Center's interior for painting.
  • install new-and-improved window blinds.
  • repair/replace broken windows.
  • do some much-needed landscaping work.

So much beautiful transformative progress! Thank you! [Please see photo gallery below.]

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation's 75th Anniversary

In August 2024, when Maria McDonald from the Dubuque A Y McDonald family purchased a table for 10 at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation's 75th Anniversary Event in Minneapolis, she invited 8 of us (from Liberty Recovery) to go. So generous!

It was such a great event and so appreciated! Actor Rob Lowe served as Master of Ceremonies; President Gerald/Betty Ford's daughter, Susan, is the Chairperson of the organization.

There were also fashionable contributions to this event:

  • Ben Graham, with Graham's Style Store for Men & Women, provided some big-and-tall fashion for resident John Turner III.
  • Mike Hager, with Fashion Touch Cleaners, provided suits for the other men.

THANK YOU ALL!
